The Sun is the card of clarity that requires no effort — things being visible, straightforward, and finally out in the open.
This card appears when a situation becomes simple. It covers achievements that are recognised, truths that are spoken, and the specific relief of not having to manage anyone's impression of a thing because it is plainly what it is.
It is one of the few cards with almost no ambiguity. Its warning is mild: clarity that arrives this easily can make people underestimate the work that produced it, or assume the phase is permanent.
Reversed, the clarity is present but obscured — either by circumstances or by the person's own refusal to see something that would require them to change course. It also covers burnout in the middle of success: the thing is working, and the person is no longer able to enjoy it.
A gentler reading is a delay rather than a denial. The Sun reversed usually describes something on its way that has not arrived yet.
In a spread, The Sun is a clear affirmative on questions of outcomes and health, with the caveat that its optimism applies to what is actually being asked. It often appears beside The Moon, where the pairing describes a period of confusion that resolves into something unusually clear.
It is the least ambiguous, which is different from best. Its clarity is useful and often welcome, but readings with only The Sun can miss things that need attention. It reads as a genuine affirmative on the question asked.
Usually a delay, or a good situation the person cannot currently feel. It is not a negative card in the way The Tower is — nothing is being taken away, the light is simply not landing yet.
